G Greg Smith Veteran Jan 31, 2012 #2 Just for the record, what I normally use with my HMC80 is a Vinten Vision Blue head with Miller Solo DV carbon-fiber legs. I'm afraid it was way beyond $500, though. - Greg

E ELN614 Well-known member Jan 31, 2012 #3 just find a manfrotto that handles cameras of a lighter weight. you should find a decent set for less than $450. I saw a pretty impressive davis & sanford tripod . the head had a 515 on it. not sure on price but is known for lower costs.
