AG-HMC150 AVCHD audio stereo mix down issue with FCP

Hi folks,
When I try to log and transfer to Final Cut Pro my audio is stereo mixed down. I can see from the wave form monitor that I have two different audio recorded on channel 1 and 2. But on the time line I cannot separate the volume or delete one channel. What gives?
How can I kill one channel?
Is there a setting in the camera that is causing this? I checked the menu and I couldn't locate a setting that will fix this problem inside the camera.
thanks.

All NLEs will do this, but they may use different terminology or slightly different steps.
Like the brute force method of Copy and pasting a duplicate audio track then killing one side of each.
Probably a couple of different ways to the same end result.

Thanks a million.
My friend and I went into the system settings after you assured us that it is not the camera and found the right setting to separate the channels... it works great now.
Thanks again.

Could you please explain the right system settings in Final Cut, I have the same problem. Thanks a lot.

Sure,
find the sequence in the browser and ctl click on it. Go to settings. In Audio settings config choose discrete channels. That should work.
Also make sure in modify your stereo pair option is checked off.
I hope this will help
