I have the AG hck10 with hmr10 recorder. Similar guts as hmc40.
Does anyone know how to set a limit on the automatic gain on this camera?
I've looked through the menus and manual.
The problem I have is during when there is only DJ lighting during receptions , etc, the footage will be ok, dark blacks, but people are lit with colored lights....except when it sometimes automatically gains up super high trying to bring up the dark black areas and the whole image then turns a mess because the black dark areas have nothing that needs to be seen anyway. It looks ok except when it does that.
The functions of that camera are differnt from the regular panasonics and I haven't seen how to limit this.
