AG-DVX100A Rebate Kicked up a Notch

Hi Everyone,

In celebration of the fact that this is the Summer for AG-DVX100A films, Panasonic announces the ramp up of the Proven Performance Rebate Program.

Rock School, http://www.rockschoolthemovie.com/flashIndex.htm

These films are all enjoying very nice reviews. Murderball, in fact, is rumored to be an Academy Award hopeful. All of these films underline the fact that the DVX100A is a proven performer in the industry and as such we want t o help as many customers as possible make the move to the DVX100A versus any of the competition! Starting August 15th, the rebate for the DVX100A increases to $500. The Magic Bullet and DVX Book continue to be packaged with the Camera. The 5400mA battery and 10 free tapes will continue as part of this promotion.

Best regards,

Jan

Hi Jan...quick question, I ordered my DVX100a from B&H Photo May 5th...just curious to when the battery and tapes may arrive. I received everything else...no rush, just that I heard there was delay on both due to sales. Glad to see it too...I imagine that the better sales are, the more money will go into future research and development of next generation cameras.

Hi Tony,

The Battery and Tape situation should be cleared by hopefully the end of August, but it is so hard to tell and we are running these programs and then something else happens.

Anyhow thank you for your patience,

Jan

I'm like a week away from purchasing my 100a, this is great news. Panasonic knows how to treat is potential and existing customers.

jan, whats the catch?
there has to be a something going on for panasonic to WANT to get rid of all those cameras. i may be cynical, but there is no way that they just feel for the consumer. im assuming there is something big happening in the 100b area? anything you can tell us?

The reality is that we have hit a plateau in the manufacturing that allow this to happen, and for the last of its run we want to take every sale back from the gray market guys. Spread the word, please.

Thanks,

Jan

Im hoping this new deal doesnt help to delay the tapes and battery even more and that there is an order of priority to the waiting.

Hi,

I can only say that I have "discussed" it in detail with those n the allocation chain and I think we have found a better "first in, first out" priority.

Best,

Jan

Jan,

So I purchased a AG-DVX100A and I went to the rebatre webpage and as I fill out my form the section where it asks enter Model Number. So I enter AG-DVX100A and everything thing else, I eventually get an error on this section. The error states: The model that you entered does not qualify for this program. But I entered AG-DVX100A as the model number. I even tried entering DVX100, 100, 100A. The only thing that doesn't allow me to move forward is this field. Every field enters are fine except for the Model Number Field which I've tried to enter different variations for this camera. Please help who do I contact, or is the coding on the website wrong?

Please Help.

jesus, try this AG-DVX100AP. it's what is under the viewfinder

Unfortunately that did not work. I have my camera w/ me right now and it does not have the "P" after the "A" on my model number camera.

When I tested to add what you stated to add w/ the "P" after the A, a new error came up that the Serial# did not match that Model number.

But when I remove the "P" from my tested attempt the add the "P" it gives me an okay for the serial# but again with the Model number error.

What's going on?

Thanks for the suggestion though...

DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT

I could've saved another $200 if I waited!

Oh well...

me too. one week from the day. ****!!!, but hell I've been having tons of fun with it. I can't believe the images this thing produces. You really can't go wrong.

The footage is awesome even though I haven't done any color corrections. Can't say the same about my last camera. Those extra $200 would have been nice, but I figure it will be a while before i get the rebate and by than I'll be like whatever.

>Unfortunately that did not work. I have my camera w/ me right now and it does not have the "P" after the "A" on my model number camera.

Then my friend I am sorry to say but you have a gray market camera and no amount of input will get you past that part of the problem. My suggestion is that you send it back to the vendor that suggested that it was a US model. Your first indication would have been that there was not Magic Bullet or DVX-Book in the box. But your camera is a Japanese camera, based on your model number, and as such, your warranty is in Japan. It does not qualify for the rebate nor the free battery or tapes.

Sorry for the bad news,

Jan

I'm so glad I bought my Panny from EVS, it saved me a world of hurt. So sorry to hear about the grey models people bought out there.

I know these things happen, and I think it is great that Panasonic is doing this new rebate, but it just stings that I entered my rebate information in 3 days ago and purchased two weeks ago, and now there is a $500 rebate. That just stings, I know these things happen, but it just stings.
