AG-DVX100A: Buying One?

Re: AG-DVX100A: Buying One?

Well it's not the gear that makes a Cinematographer, it's the ability to see.

Damn it all!

So true, Taylor. I compare it to golf at times. It's been proved that a good golfer should be able to par 18 holes by using a five iron, a wedge and a putter. Oftentimes, you can snag a birdie or an eagle. Give a poor golfer the best equipment and accessories and they're still a poor golfer.

Very true about the golfer - it sure is difficult though when deciding if you really do need something because you just can't get around it, or when you're simply itching to upgrade...

Sorry about the XL2 option, had to include it since some people are still waiting. Here's another question to ponder as well:

Would you sell your AG-DVX100 for an AG-DVX100A and be forced to wait on other cool accessories, or would you keep your AG-DVX100 and get a Chrosziel matte box, rods system, and Panasonic anamorphic adapter?

I'm debating this right now since I've had my AG-DVX100 for a while now, and can justify the possiblity of selling it. I will definitely lose money on the sale though if I go this route. What do you think?

Re: AG-DVX100A: Buying One?

Gosh, I *hope* people start dumping their DVXs for the A -- I'm in the market for a second one . . .

Re: AG-DVX100A: Buying One?

i have never owned a dvx-100 but been lurking around the boards for the past year. i will be getting the dvx100a.

Re: AG-DVX100A: Buying One?

Once the A comes on the market... i'll have it cradled in my hot little sweaty hands .... buahahahaha (insert sinister laugh sfx here) ;)
