Ag Dvc30 & Dvx100b

I am currently using 3 dvc30s to shoot weddings and special events etc and am considering adding the DVX100b to the mix...I really want to do 4 camera ceremonies and have the dvx100b be my main camera for interviews and outdoor stuff....my question is...is the video quality going to be so much better than my dvc30s as to look odd when mixed with the other cameras and if I shoot in the 24p mode can I edit this footage in the same timeline as the dvc30,s 30f mode? I use premiere pro 2.0 (adobe prodution studio) hope this makes sense!
thanks for any info in advance
cheers
Steve

I dont own or have never used a DVC30, but my logic is telling me that footage shot on the DVX at either 24p (not pa) or 30p would work into the same timeline without an issue.

i have the dvc80 and i have seen video from the 100a and dvc30 and all the video looked great and very compatible to each other so shooting with the 100b and 30 should not give you any probs i would suggest to white balance all the cams together and from what ive read the 30p and 24p should work well in the 24p timeline.

ps

ncje are you saying when mixing 24 and 30 its best to shoot in 24p and not 24pa?

Yeah mate, he is using ppro and the standard process on ppro is to edit 24pa on a 23.98 timeline. Whereas 24p is edited on a 29.97 timeline which is the same as 30p and thus I assume then compatible with the dvc30.

does that process go for only ppro or all? i was wondering cuz i have an avid and im set to buy a 100b soon and i was wondering how i would mix 30 and 24 and to which 24 to go with?

Usually its the standard practice. BEst bet would be to check the Avid forum, or ask Brandon Rice I know he is on Avid also.

when i had a dvc30 it was awesome. I had shot a reception with a dvx100 and and dvc 30. i set them both on 30fps. it worked out superb. with the correct settings, they all look the same.
