I hope I'm not just stupid, but I just received my new AG-AF100 from B&H and can't for the life of me get any image out of the camera. Pretty basic start up...charged battery, attached lens, inserted memory card, turned power on and set time & date. Problem is the display (both optical eye piece and monitor are completely black. I can see audio meter working and display functions are ok but I cannot get an image out of it to save my life.

I assume there is a problem with the sensor not being connected. Anyone had any situations similar to this or am I just dumb as a box o' rocks?

Just a little more equip info, as conected (in case it matters):
AG-AF100
Adaptimax EF to 4/3 adaptor
Zeiss 35mm Distagon
SanDisk 32gb Ultra SDHC (formatted)

I played with all the settings to see if I was missing something...shouldn't I see an image?

Any response will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Thanks for saving my weekend...that did the trick. One time I'm glad and not ashamed to be a newb.

Thanks for the quick response.

damn, I was gonna tell you to send it my way to see if I could get it working. hehehe :) I promise I would send it right back. muahahahahahahah in a year or two.

Yea, that lens check feature gets everyone with their first new AF100... It got me at first when I got mine and only had my nikons to test it, but then I remembered about what I read about the lens check feature and figured out how to turn it off.

Thanks for that important info. Just got mine, got frustrated at not being able to figure out the problem, went online, found this forum, found the answer...happy camper.
