Aftereffects to Avid corruption

Hey all - quick question. Were having trouble importing aftereffects footage into Avid after recently updating our adrenaline. The footage is looking corrupted on the Avid, but appears to play back fine on the machine that did the AE export.

The original footage is downconverted HD and appears fine on both machines, so the problem appears to be either in the AE export or the Avid import, and as I said before this only started after we updated our system. If anyone else has experienced a similar problem, any help would be appreciated.

Attached is a screengrab of the problem (though it appears much more pronounced during playback). Notice the corruption around the headlight.

It looks like a field order problem.

Are you viewing playback on a broadcast monitor? Field errors aren't going to show up on a pregressive display.

It's hard to tell the exact source of the problem. A lot of variables here (AE interpret settings, Avid project settings, Avid export settings, etc.). Post your AE render settings and Avid import settings as a starting point.

Hey guys - I agree, the picture made it look like a field issue and thats what we worked on initially. In playback though, the corruption was much larger than a single field - it was more like every ten lines or so were offset, giving the video a wavy look as opposed to fuzzy.

Good news is we figured it out - after the avid update, the system started outputting video at 640 x 480 when set on native settings, even though the native dimension was 720 x 480. Then when it was imported into AE, set on 720 x 480, it got all wavy-like (thats also the reason that though the source footage was affected, the titles and graphics weren't).

Anyways, thanks for the help! And if anyone else experiences a similar problem, make sure the outputted files are really the dimensions they should be.
