do you guys delete the edited clips on the timeline once you do the video mixdown? where can i store the edited clips so i can re-edit if need be? the goal is to have both the video mixdown and the multilayered edited clips at my disposal.
You'll always duplicate your sequence before mixing it down so you can go back to it. You can store your project and footage on a cheap firewire drive and shelve it for the project.
If you are just mixing down a portion of the timeline (like a complicated effect or something) you could just put the mixdown on a higher video track than the source files or put the source files at the end of the timeline.
