After Effects Transparency into Avid

Im having a problem and cant figure out what the best way to get something that has transparency in it, out of After Effects and into Avid with the full quality and total transparency going with it to lay on top of a video.

Say for an example I make a really cool lower third in AE and love it and it would go perfect with my project in Avid. What format would I use to keep all transparency attributes with it so when imported into Avid and places on Video 2, the tranparency goes perfect (even if the lower third has some fade points) so video 1 will be able to be seen underneath.

I was thinking of just making a Green background but I dont really know. Can someone that does this often tell me their best ways? Thank you!

Im sorry man, can you kinda tell me a little bit more to the step by step process of doing it? Dont have to get too indepth but what format should I render our of AE ?

Know what, nevermind man. I totally figured it out. Thanks for your help. Your a good man. I need to have you on call somewhere. I just started working in the Air Force as a videographer but I been doing video using programs like Avid, FCP, Vegas and Premiere. I dont want to take too much of your time in the future but im sure I will need more help with things along the way.

I will try to help as much as my time allows. There are many other people on this forum that can help as well. We just need to know what level everyone is at in their learning process (we never stop learning) so we can make sure we meet their needs.

My dad was in the Air Force for 26 year in Aerospace Defense and tracking.

Good luck with all your work and career.

Lee, here's some great reference for using Avid and After Effects together:

Also, Wes Plate has some excellent tips:

Finally, to really master After Effects, I would reccomend these books from Chris and Trish Myer:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...102-8065039-4110556?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

That book is SO good Adobe should have included it with the software!
