Hi!

Shall export from After Effects to Avid, what should I chosse:

-Avid 1:1x
-Avid DNxHD Codec
-Avid DV
-Avid Meridien Compressed
-Avid Meridien Uncopressed
-Avid Packed Codec?

If I shall export from Avid to After Effects should I chosse QuickTime Reference for best quality?

Someone else may have a better way, but for me, when I'm going back and forth between Avid and AfterEffects (or FCP and AfterEffects), I've had best results in exporting uncompressed (i.e. compression= "none") quicktimes. This does result in huge file sizes, but it's the only way I've found to avoid the gamma shifting that occurs when bringing material through the different programs.

you'll be able to "fast import using the proper codec. While the animation codec is generic and is always good to fall back on from machine to machine, you'll save alot of time just using the meridien uncompressed codec.

Hi!

Which format should I use to export from Avid to After Effects and then from After Effects to Avid?
The material is DV.

For exporting from Avid to After Effects I use QT Ref with Avid DV Codec box checked and have had good success with that into After Effects.

For AE to Avid use the Avid DV codec and that should work fine.

Make sure when importing from After Effects to Avid to use the RGB method.
