After effect 7 ERROR importing Audio

Hi, i get this error ( After effect error: an unspecified Avi or Directshow error occurred. (1) ( 53 :: 33)

when i tried to import an mp3 audio file, im using Ae for about 2 years and this error came up today.

i also was doing a google search but the problem is for a video+audio issue, not for Mp3 audio.

Hope someone can help me!...what can i do? :dankk2:
 
Hi Everts, yes, i have to many codec pack installed already there i dont know wich one is for who or what, i gues im pretty new with codecs.
I have a matrox rtx100 pro, i will love to know wich one of this codec are usefull and wich one not.

-AMVapp 2.1
-AMVapp Audio apps 2.0
- Helix YUV codecs
- Lossles codec
- optibase video Pump YUV codecs
-Xvid mpeg-4 video codec
 
I would try unistalling the xvid mp4 first.
If that's not the culprit I would uninstall the first two.
The other three or 10bit video codecs I believe.
 
I tried to do it , but doesnt work, is weird , i dont have problem exporting or listening audio when i import a video+audio file into the after effect, the problem is when i import mp3 file.
 
I had the same problem a while back and I remembered an mp4 codec being a problem.
I believe AE doesnt' n know which codec to use so it shutsdown.
Uninstalling all the codecpack help me though.
