On set today I was shooting some behind the scenes on a BBC docu drama. About 2 hours into the shoot I had almost filled a Panasonic Gold 8GB card. With 2 minutes left on the card I pressed the run switch to no avail. The camera would not cut. I the pressed the other run button, as well as the on/off button on my wooden handgrip pplugged into the S/S port (ex Olof @ Westside). Still no luck. The clip kept rolling on. Next step was to sacrifice the last clip (of a couple minutes duration of interview) by pressing the power switch on the camera to OFF. Still no luck and the clip kept rolling. I then resorted to unclipping the battery. This is the only means to get the camera to CUT. Mentioned that I would like to repeat the last 3 questions to the producer, which we then did once I changed SD cards. On reviewing the RUSHES tonight, the last clip on roll 1 (that would not cut) was alive and well.
Is this a card issue? Is it the camera? Just happy the clip is still alive. Anyone else encountered anything similar?
