Hi,

got a Blade, lately read the manual and operation all seems really intuitive but I know the potential to get caught out whilst on a really important
job is always there!
so if anyone's using this combo do you have any do's and dont's or things i need to watch out for?

Thanks

I've used the original Samurai (not the Blade, yet) and have found it to be solid. The main thing is to get to know the settings and make sure you're using the right setup for whatever it is you want to do.

With the trigger properly set, the Samurai should go into record whenever you send a signal out the HD-SDI port (meaning when you go into record, or when you play back a clip on the AF100).

Compare using the PSF mode of the AF with using the 3:2/23.98 mode on the Samurai. Both should work fine. Taking advantage of the Samurai's 3:2 mode gives you the option to still use the HDMI output of the AF. Of course, that's not so necessary now with the quality of the Blade's image unless you also need to output an HDMI signal to video village. If so, you have an option.

Double check your whole workflow ahead of time (always a good idea) and you should be really happy with the results.

Thanks John, trigger is set and rec/playback from AF is activating the Blade, I won't need to use the HDMI output
