AF100 with external EVF and External recorder....

Ok so, looking for some solutions here. I am running a AF100 with a atomos samurai, and wanting to use a evf other than the built in one (which we all know is shocking).

we can't get both external recorder working and the evf, as the current cineroid evf will not accept the 1080/720 output from the hdmi, you have to change the setting to 'down convert'.

is everyone else in this conundrum? Or is there a evf out there that will accept the same uncompressed signal?

I use both the Cineroid (old model) and the Z-Finder Pro with HDMI regularly, and it works fine without down converting. I do not use an external recorder though - I would like to, but there's no way to send the screen information out HDMI while sending a clean signal through SDI, and since I need the information I've opted to stick with the SD card. I shoot 1080 24p BTW. Try outputting HDMI to a regular ol' TV and see what happens.
 
The Small HD DP4, with or without vf attachment, has hdmi pass through. Haven't used it that way, but I don't believe it degrades the signal.

Alphatron EVF might be your best bet for SDI pass through or sell the atomos for the Hyperdeck as it has SDI and HDMI pass through and also does prores now, could save yourself a few pounds
