Hello,
Can someone please explain to me the huge differences between the AF100 and GH2. My understanding is both cameras have the same codec, the same sensor and can even use the same lenses. The difference in body prices is one costs $899 and the other $4,799. I know the AF100 is a "real" video camera, obviously with HD-SDI, timecode, but if we just compare footage, is it comparable? I also understand that *Both* cameras significantly reduce the aliasing/moire issues.
Thanks. Jan from Panasonic can you advise? :)
Best regards.

Yes.

No, definitely not. The AF100 is optimized to get rid of that, but the GH2 isn't. It shows just as much aliasing as the GH1 did. However, both GH2/GH1 show a lot cleaner than a Canon DSLR. But there is nothing in the GH2 that's improved over the GH1 as far as aliasing goes. The AF100, on the other hand, is vastly improved in that aspect.

I own both (well, I have a loaner AF100 until my bought unit arrives). And I can say that the price difference is well, well, well justified. GH2 is a great little handheld still/video hybrid, but I would definitely pay $4,000 more for all the AF100 offers.

EDIT: just saw that this thread was locked after the post from mkfotos, so... yeah, discussion should continue in that other thread.
