AF100 vs AF101 - What are the actual differences?

Well? I thought the AF100 was PAL/NTSC 50/60hz switchable, so if that is the case what is the difference between the two models?

I am planning on buying one in England and wonder what difference it would have to a USA model, except for I guess warranty? Is the warranty international?

Sorry if this is a dumb post!

The warranty will be valid in the UK if you buy from the UK. Buy local and get a local warranty.

So it's the same physical camera with the same menu language? Also, is the UK warranty only valide in UK? Not in the rest of Europe, etc..?
Thanks for the responses.

It's the same physical unit, with presumably the same language options. The power cord will be different. I don't know what the EU warranty situation is like; there is a Panasonic Europe but there are also like a dozen or two dozen individual Panasonics under them (Panasonic France, Panasonic Holland, etc) so I don't know if the warranty is Europe-wide or per country or ?

On my HVX and HPX171 the colour bars were PAL standard rather than SMPTE. I'd image the same will be so of the AF101.

The bars are dependent on what mode you have the camera in. All the AF10x cameras have both kinds of bars. SMPTE is available when in 60Hz mode, PAL bars when in 50Hz mode.

Cool good to know.

Well I'm going to be buying an AF100 in USA in a few weeks and take it to England for about 3 months of work there. Then I'm going to try to sell it off, so if anybody wants to buy an AF100 with whatever kind of USA warranty it has in a few months in Europe let me know, I'll probably try to sell it for close to £3000.

From what I'm understanding it's the same cam, just a different warranty. That's pretty sweet for international compatibility...

Just to confirm the units are all identical. When we unpackaged our 101, they had provided UK, US and European plugs with it :)
