Yeah, maybe it´s too late for Panasonic...Yes, it's called the FS7.![]()

Yes -- the PX270 is about $5100 at B&H, and Panasonic had a trade-in program where you could trade in a DVX100 to get another $1,000 off.but can I get a 10bit, AVC-Intra camera for $4,500.00?
People are buying GH4 because it's sort of a cheap bridge for 4K. AF 100 with m43 sensor is not going to be a massive hit unless it will be very affordable. I'd prefer FS7 anyway.
So, come on Panasonic... I'm not asking for a baby Varicam for $2,000.00, but can I get a 10bit, AVC-Intra camera for $4,500.00?

So if they could just hack the lens off the PX270 and put in the GH4's chip, and lower the price just a tiny little bit, then ... yes, it does seem reasonable to expect that they COULD do it.
Will they? No clue. They haven't shown any real interest in doing so, but I don't think it's outrageous to expect it, especially if we're talking about delivery a year from now.
Again, I have heard nothing and know nothing. I'm just commenting that it seems potentially possible to do that at that price point, since the PX270 delivers 10-bit AVC-Intra at a price very close to it already.
Yes and proper inage quality. No overexposure problem, but really good DRIf Panasonic wanted to make a m43 version of the FS7, then just multiply its size and cost by a factor of 0.7x. In the specs, substitute "Micro P2" for "XQD" and "AVC-Ultra" for "XVAC". I'd be fine with that.
Well, the GH4 and YAGH unit (with 10-bit HD-SDI and dual XLRs) cost about $3,200, and it's capable of 200-Mbps all-intra MP4 recording. Add a few hundred for a video-camera form factor, and it should be doable for much less than $4,500. What I'd like to see is a sensor with much better dynamic range (14 stops, possibly something with a dual readout à la the Alexa) and better low-light performance.
Yeah, probably a few hundred, because they already have the form factor in the AF100 and the sensor size is the same, so there shouldn't have to be a ton of new engineering work to be done. But at $4,500, that's a premium of about $1,200, not just a few hundred. Before, people said, "You can't expect pro features like HD-SDI and XLRs in a camera for less than $6,000." Well, Panasonic just added them for under $2K (and at that still seems overpriced compared with the GH4), for a total of $3,200 or so. But if they want to, sure, Panasonic can insist on charging $6K for an AF-style version of the GH4. That would, however, push it into the same price range as the BMD Ursa and within spitting distance of the Sony F7 and the AJA Cion, all of which are s35, have raw capability, and have better DR specs. To stand out at $6K, I would think it would have to be something more than simply an AF100 with the GH4's sensor.Few hundred? It does cost money to engineer things proper. Im thinking they are looking at something that will bring a better set of features than the C100 with a solid image. My wild guess is 6K.
