AF100 Settings

"optimal" means what to you?

Others settings will never be relevant across all the situations . They just simply wont translate considering all the factors.

I dont understand why the user of this or any camera would not optimise it to their own unique requirements.

Hey,

what shooter said is right, but generally speaking, there are certain settings a lot of the users here, who are after the "film" look, tend to use more than others

Those being:
Detail: 0 to -7
VDetail: 0 to -7
Matrix: Norm 1 (Lower level of noise, less punchy color, less magenta)
Norm 2 (Least amout of noise, softess, slightly magenta)
Fluo (Quite Magenta, low noise level )
CineLike (Punchiest colors, highest level of noise)
Gamma: CineD for dynamic range and CineV to decrease noise level
DRS: depending on if you need a slight "one up" on your highlights, DRS can be tuned up and down based on any particular shot.

Shooter, what does "translate" mean to you?

I think the original poster was going to use people's past experience and footage to make their decision on which settings would be right for them. Since not everyone has, or can, get a camera it's a good time to explore and see what other people are doing and learn from their mistakes and successes.

So i think a post like this is completely relevant.

Well my point is that its not going to be right for them unless.... they have exactly the identical situation and monitor equipment and lens and time of day and temperature and lighting and skin tone , and props and colors in the scene and etc...

I believe photography is a creative art and you just cant plug in someone settings and become an artist. At least not a lazy artist that will never be unique.

No one can ever even decided on what "cinematic" even looks like. It in the eye of the beholder. So how does someone elses "cinematic" plugin scene setting work for someone else.

I do believe it relevant to post scene settings with a sample though because it interesting info for thought and discussion. (should anyone choose to)
