love the lighting kyle, very dramatic. The highlights on her cheek, forehead and hair look really nice! I dare say there is a post curve adjustment going on? Share some details!
This was done for fun. But I wanted to see if the noise would be a problem in the darker BG areas during interviews. I have a Mocumentary coming up this Spring which has dozens of interviews.
I would like to know what settings/parameters/techniques are best to minimize noise. I've found several suggestions on the boards here, but it would be nice to have a centralized source listing them.
I looked at the AUTO IRIS recommendation, then manually decreased it by one F stop increment (with the Zuikos, there are increments between 2.8 to 3.4, for example... 3.0, 3.2) if the waveforms looked like it needed it.
We have already done some tests regarding the matricies and found out that in order from most noisy to least noisy:
Cinelike
Norm1
Fluo
Norm2
I like norm 2 but it is a Tad on the soft/magenta side
Norm 1 is only slightly noisier, cinelike being THE noisiest by far. And of course, cineD gamma is noisy, but a curve is generally applied ( at least for me ) in post anyway, so i like having hte detail there in the image if i need it.
And now that i've discovered three way color corrector ( mainly for highlights ) it's easy to fix the blowouts with a little highlight desaturation and sometimes it needs a little color casting to match the rest of the clip transition.
