AF100 now really discontinued at B&H in New York

[David W. Jones]

The last 4 projects I worked on we're shot with an Arri Alexa, and a solid 3 for 3.

[BobbyMurcerFan]

The Alexa is quite a different camera from the AF100.

[David W. Jones]

Yes it is. And next week I have 3 projects with much smaller budgets where the AF100 will be used.

Oh-oooh.... but how can you do that? Isn't it discontinued.... ;-)

A Cameramancer!

[Bern Caughey]

Maybe I'm missing it, but just looked at the B&H page, & don't see any mention of the AF100 being discontinued. Perhaps they corrected a mistake.

Perhaps they corrected a mistake.

Definitely seems that way. I just looked and it is, indeed, available now. Chalk it up to another B&H "oops" moment?

[Barry_Green]

Said it before, will say it again, B&H doesn't get to determine when a manufacturer discontinues a product... and they have falsely claimed many times that various products were discontinued when they in fact weren't.

This time, the original AF100 may actually be discontinued, but not as "discontinued" but as superseded by a newer model. Which, unfortunately for the haters, carries a very different distinction.

[John B.]

A few months back when B&H erroneously had the AF100 listed as "discontinued," it also had the Sony F3 listed as "discontinued," too.

Gosh, you mean you can't believe everything you read on the Internet?

[Ken Hull]

Uh ... Gary, I'm not sure what you're trying to say there.

Weird...shows up on my MacBook but not on my desktop!

[hscully]

I see it on my desktop.. but I assert that here, on the internet.
