AF100 not included in Rvenge of the Great camera shoot out :(

When will people stop worrying about camera shoot outs, and instead go out and shoot.

Any modern camera is able to deliver a great product. It's what's behind and in front of the camera that makes the real difference.

All the Best!

IIRC, neither the GH2, Epic, F65, FS100, F3+SLog, or surely the C300 made it into the last one... so providing the Alexa and 7D as upper and lower "points of reference," you really don't need to see the AF100 again to know what it'll do. The other cameras on the list are unknown quantities in their setup, so bully for them.

Well .. I wouldn't expect them to revisit every camera.. they added a few of the high-end original (Arri, etc) for
reference..

Makes sense to me.

The AF100 was included in the official Zacuto 2012 Great Camera Shootout. The upcoming Revenge Shootout will feature both stock and hacked GH2 submissions. Sounds to me like they're covering Panasonic's videocams pretty well.

AF100 is nice camera with a sub-HD picture. Iam using it, but I cannot say that I love the quality of the picture; it is useable.
Till now it has always performed as it should, except for the picture quality. It should had have the picture like the GH2.
They can solve it by releasing information for a hack. If Pana don't, the AF100 is IMO done and will soon be forgotten.
IMO the new kid on the block is the Blackmagic camera. Very impressive what they offer for 3000 bucks.

Since when is it sub HD?

IVe shot some gorgeous images with the AF100, so I'd say more than usable. Sure its no C300 - but look at the price difference.

The hacked GH2 delivers higher res for sure. But, thats only one small factor of the overall image.

Hardly, certainly sales wont be what they were 12 months ago and with the competition across the board its no wonder, but theres still a user base that will continue to purchase and use this tool. A user base the workflow suits, a userbase that will enjoy the cheaper Lumix lens options.

Thats true, but doesnt negate my previous point.

I read that Panasonic is discontinuing the AG AF line, so i bet thats why it wasn't included.

You've been misled. Panasonic are showing the AF100 at NAB. My thoughts on why its not in the Camera Shoot Out? You'd need to ask Steve to the exact reason - but it was there last year, and Im guessing a repeat of last years cameras isnt entirely desirable. The most likely want to include what they didnt, new cameras and the staple (seen as the best cameras) as the benchmark like the Alexa.

Heres what was there last year:

Arri Alexa, Sony F-35, Sony F3, Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 7D, Canon 1D Mark IV, Nikon D7000, Weisscam HS-2, Phantom Flex, Panasonic AG-AF100, RED ONE M-X and 35mm Kodak 5213 and 5219 film.

So, Id say the FS100 / Epic / Scarlet / C300 - Maybe 1Dc / C500 depending on timing/ F65 / Maybe FS700 (timing) / Aaton Penelope (Timing) / BMD cine cam (TIMING) will be there, but no 5DMKII as its been superseded, no 1D, no D7000, no Red One-MX.

And some stuff from last year Alexa / Maybe F3 et al.

All guesses fwiw - but it stands to reason.
