Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, I couldn't get the search engine to find anything.

Does anyone know for certain if this lens will work as manual focus & aperture on an AF100 with an adapter?
The fancy-schmancy Auto/Manual focus sounds like it's semi-automated.

No speculation, please. I'm looking for facts.

Thanks!

all nikon g lenses have no aperture ring so you need an adaptor that allows you to manually change the aperture - you wont know the exact f stop though. I would recommend a quality one like the novoflex which has been rock solid for me & with very smooth aperture control. I initially bought a much cheaper fotodiox one but it has a lot of play & the aperture adjustment is quite twitchy - maybe i just got a duff one but i would recommend the novoflex

Thanks. I already have the novoflex adapter, which works fine.

I'm more concerned about the fancy new Manual/Auto focus system -- will it work without power?

You answered your own question.

How would it work without power? Until someone makes a powered Nikon adapter, we won't have anything like that.

Not sure about the nikon lenses but I know that canon lenses have a switch for af on their lenses that disengage the focus motor.
