AF100 for feature use

Hi, new to the forum and want to know if anyone is planning, or already has used, the AF-100 for for a feature film.

If yes, any response on workflow, positive results, or even negative situations would be a plus.

We are preparing for an independent feature this June and looking at the AF-100 as a possible camera due to budget/schedule. Just trying to get a good understanding from people who are using it for narrative work already.

Thanks!

If your comfortable with the results of an EX-1 or HVX with a 35mm adapter for shooting a feature, then I think you would like the AF100. I'm working with it on a short and a web series. I think it's great camera for narrative work. Look at Monsters (might be an Ex-3). I would not want to discourage you from using the AF100 for a feature but for a feature budget the cost of the camera, relative to everything else, is rather small and so you have options.

I think for budgets of $200k-400k I'd be looking at Red. For a budget of $100k and under I'd be looking to shoot with the AF100.

At present I don't think I'd use any other camera than the AF100 under $100k. Instead I'd look to employ a very good DP, and try to get the money on-screen.

if only that mentality were more common :)

I'm currently in prep for a feature. the budget is under 150k. The plan is to shoot 2 AF100s, native avchd recording.
