AF100 firmware upgrade 1.23

I don't mind paying for an upgrade either. Would be nice if it was a freebie, but meh. What I do mind (and I mentioned this in a different thread) is having to hunt down a brick and mortar store to get the upgrade, when the upgrade is a 100% digital deliverable. What's the point of making me go to a store? I bought the camera online, I have to download the update online, but I have to go to a store to buy the registration number? I don't get it. I would have bought the upgrade as soon as it came out if it was just a simple purchase and download from Panasonic. Yet here I am, still haven't updated because I don't feel like wandering through a big city to find a tiny store for something that should be made available on a website.
 
as far as i know u dont need to go anywhere - u have to order a dvd with the code...... thats how i understand it and thats what my dealer told me about

Dit is geen goed nieuws voor de Af100 owners. De camera is al in waarde achteruit gegaan vanwege de
verschillen met de concurentie.

I've been unable to find a link to the previous AF100 v1.17 firmware download on Panasonic's website. I believe this was the latest free of charge update released by Panasonic. Is it still available?

1.23 is free of charge and is the latest update.

The 60p update is a separate product that you buy and install. 1.23 adds the license key activation capabilities.
 
Having some trouble trying to update the AF101 to new firmware. For some reason the cam gives me the message:

"PLEASE CONNECT AC ADAPTOR CABLE"

which I just dont get. The camera is running on battery and the cable is not nearby. Any takers?
 
Why is there a 2-4 week lead time on this at B&H?

I ordered from them on 7/16 (at that time it wasn't listed as a back-ordered item). I have a shoot next week on 8/8. Does anyone know where I can purchase this in Los Angeles ASAP? Would love to get it loaded and tested before that shoot.

Any help would be very appreciated!!
 
FYI

Full Compass has the upgrade for about $210USD. Best price I could find! Mine just came today and I just installed it. They make you jump through a few hoops, but it's relatively easy. It's always nice to get freebies, but I don't mind paying a reasonable fee for compelling software upgrades. I hope Panasonic will surprise us with some more innovations to breathe new life into this camera.
 
Still waiting for the backorder list to disappear and for the item to become current. Why is it a backorder item and when will it become current?

I tried emailing as well as calling you, but to no avail. I upgraded to the 1080/60P for my AF100 and I am having difficulties seeing the footage in FCP 7. Does Panasonic have a plug in available that I am missing?
If this is update cannot be edited natively, what is my post workflow?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Panasonic offers the AVCCAM Importer software which is designed to allow native editing of AVCHD files. As I'm not a Mac user, I don't know whether it works for 1080/60p or not. Further, does FCP 7 support 1080/60p at all? Or do you have to go to FCP X to get 1080/60p support?
