I do totally hear about you moving from a 170 with a Letus or whatever to the AF100. That said,
mind that you're moving into a new format where you will likely get new glass. The MFT format
will change how much of your existing glass you'll look down. MM's are doubled .. F.stops are halved,
etc etc.
How does it change my glass? My nikons are the same focal lenght on my AF100 as when they were on my letus; the field of view may be slightly tighter, as the letus used an oversized frame as a DOF adaptor, it was not emulating the size of a standard motion picture 35mm film, it was closer to a FF 35mm size, like the 5D, which is vista vision. It is not a standard size for motion, but was used as it provided the greated DOF, which was the point of the letus. The AF100 i slightly smaller than s35, but is actually much closer than the 5D or the Letus to the FOV of actual S35film. Also, how are the f stops half as much on the af100. My 50mm is just as fast at 1.4 on my af100 as it is on my letus (the camera is faster, but that is another issue...). Again, sensor size my slightly impact the DOF, but a lens at 1.4 on a letus is the same 1.4 on the AF100 or any other camera. I really hate it when people keep spreading this, it is really breeding confusion, which gives people the wrong impression of the AF100.
On a side note, AF100 over a letus any day of the week IMHO. A nanoflash will makes the codec argument moot, and it is a cleaner image IMHO than any adaptor setup and is around the same price point.
