Anyane ever see this msg. pop up on their screen? Camera was on for about 30 mins. Then COM flashed on screen and never was able to get rid of it. Powered down, removed battery, Re-powered up, changed frame rate, popped cards, changed lenses, nothing worked. Camera rolled and played back fine. Getting ready to upload ftg. now.

The first time it happened to me, I was told by the Panasonic's service to push at the same time the "Menu knob" end "Exec" bottons (It's a hidden servicing menu). That time the flashing "COM" went off.
I meant the knob used to go up-down in the menus. While you press the knob, push it upwards and simultaneously press the EXEC button for a few seconds. That should work.
That time the flashing "COM" went off. But when after some time it returned flashing, I had to send the camera to servicing because some camera functions didn't run any more. Hope this could help you.

OK. We pressed the joystick up while at the same time holding the Execute button in. COM message has gone away. My question to you Pinobra is what functions stopped working that you had to send to Panny? For us, when the COM MSG was displayed, we were stuck in the USB Recorder mode.

Good. I'm not sure if what happened next was connected to that fact or not. After a while (a few days after) some functions in the menu ceased to be operational, such as the change of scene files. Even the reset button was not responsive. Then I sent the camera to servicing. I was told that the software has been uploaded in my camera. Hope it will not be your case.
