Hi all i just received my af100 today but i live in the uk and as a result the battery charger has the standard US plug end. I am going to get an adapter so it works in english plug sockets but wanted to check that it still would be ok to plug right in, i don't want it to blow or something?

All modern AC camera adapters use worldwide voltage 110-240VAC (it should have a stamp on the adapter body). You just need a UK plug adapter.

Alex is correct & I've used the AF100's charger in the UK.

If I lived in the UK I wouldn't get an adapter, instead I'd replace the power cable. Less bulk & one less bit to fail.

You want an adapter, not a converter. The adapters are just a small piece of plastic and are very cheap.

You can find them for cheaper than this too. You should look to see if you need grounded to grounded (3 prong) or ungrounded.

All the adapter does is change the prong size, which is what you want. Most modern electronics are worldwide voltage, just like Alex said. The converters change the voltage, something that you might need for like an old hair dryer.

Had the camera a week and not been able to use it!!

I can't understand why the adapter doesn't fit onto the plug. I've done this in the London before.

But as I wrote earlier, look into replacing the cable instead. Take the charger to an electronics supply store, & they should be able to find a cable with a UK plug. These are common parts.
