AF100 and nikon 16-85 not opening aperture ring

Hallo guys,

i'm about to shoot the final stage of a doc with some aerials from a private helicopter. Tryng to figure out why the nikon 16-85 lens doesn't work with the af100 adapter ring. Every other nikon glass works perfectly but on this one i can't open/close the aperture ring adapter. Any suggestion guys?

With many of those adapters, it's best to turn the adapter aperture ring to full-closed prior to mounting the lens... otherwise, the adapter's actuating lever may not contact the lens's aperture lever correctly.

There's some chance as well that the lens's aperture lever is simply of a different size and thus either the lens or adapter will need some slight modification
