AF100 and LitePanel Micro or Micro Pro?

I have a set of four LED panels. Three 1x1ft and a on-camera sized. These are great despite their lack of pure colour because you can set a kick at just the right illumination and they can look very smooth.

Light output is fairly good but not as claimed like a 600 halogen light. They are more like a 150w Fresnel but wider spread and easier to dial in. I use them as key or fill but prefer a Red Head, Fresnel or Dedo light to lit the background.

To answer your question specifically, definitely go with a MicroPro. It has much better illumination and throw than Micro.

I own the micro in the past and sold it off later. It is really quite weak, maybe good for 1m range.

And like what others have mentioned, there are better products out there. One of the best is probably Zylight with variable color temperature but I have a problem finding a suitable battery for it. It is better used with d-tap.

The cool thing and perhaps the only thing going for MicroPro or Micro is really the use of AA batteries.
