Hi there!
I'm new with my AF101E and I've heard that it would be possible to record the footage on both SDs at same time, as a backup copy.
It that true?
What's the setting on the menu?
Thanx in advance
This procedure could be automatic: they could add an option to the menu. When activated each clip is copied istantly to the second card. I have suggested this to panasonic: no answer
You're not going to get an answer because it'll never happen on the AF100....maybe in the AF100's successor. I'm not even going to get into how easy this would be to add via firmware.
Yes it is very easy: the camera has already all hw and sw. This is not a contemporary recording, no additional hw required: it is enough that when the recording stops the procedure starts automatically. Just a few rows of code to add to the firmware and this could be a great option for a camera that records on consumer cards
They want you to spend the money on a camera instead of adding useful features via firmware. Take a look at Panasonic firmware updates and you'll see that they add very little useful functionality. They are more focused on "optimizing HE video quality" then actually fixing things or adding features which really should have been there in the first place.
And the argument about the features being hard coded -- this is simply not true.
Cut Panasonic some slack gents. This has zero to do with nickel and diming you. Not every camera gets the same functions and there's only so much engineering that can be done before a camera goes out the door. Your 'must-have' feature may just be a 'nice to have' to the majority. That said, send feedback to Panasonic. If it's something they can do in firmware, they are often more than happy to oblige...
