AF100 12volt?

Is the AF100 12 volt? I am looking for battery options other than the Panasonic on board.
I have been hearing that this camera is 7 volt. If so, why would they do this when most professional cameras and accessories are 12 volt?
Thanks for any assistance.

Likely because it follows along in the tradition of all their handheld cameras they've made for at least the last eight years. They're all 7.2 volt, from the DVX100/A/B, through the HVX200/200A, the HPX170, HMC150, HMC40, HMC80... all the architecture for all their handheld cameras have always been 7.2v.

Got it, makes sense. I was looking to power the camera, Nanoflash, LCD Eyepiece from a single Anton Bauer battery.
I will now have to figure something else out.

Anton Bauer has made accessory plates to allow the use of their batteries with prior cameras like the DVX, HVX, and HPX170. I would hope that they would continue such development, but I fear they've gotten sidetracked with their "Elipz" battery line, which ... frankly, I hate. Not a fan of the Elipz, and the more time they spend developing it, is time they could be spending creating proper mounting plates for their existing Gold Mount battery series.

hhhmmmmm, with a little electronics knowledge you could put in a voltage regulator, which would work perfectly from 12 to 7.2 volts ..... just my 2c
