AF tracking not available for video mode?

This might turn out to be pretty handy. I heard that it wasn't enabled on this version to make the deadlines for before Christmas... Well that's the rumor. Might be a really nice option for this when using it with a steadicam, etc. Weill be interesting to see what happens...

My biggest thing that I'd love would be punch in focusing while recording.... cause nothing compares to manual focusing....

Of course it isn't perfect but yes, it's incredibly useful. There seems to be a lot of confusion on this subject. Here is how it works:

From what I've been hearing this is omitted from the video mode of the GH2, as well? The only reason I see that they would do that is to help sales of their dedicated camcorders or even the AF100. If it doesn't work on the GH2, hopefully this will be addressed in a firmware update.

What camera are you shooting this with?

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. I don't think it has been pursued. I think it is a very useful (and surprisingly functional) feature.

Me too... It would be really nice, but I don't think that the hack is being looked at anymore.

Yea I was shocked to see that video of the G10 doing focus tracking for video. I think a hacked G2 is looking like a really good deal right now.
