AF-100 metal base plate

I thought I remembered seeing on here once a long time ago something about a metal base plate for the AF-100 that would replace the factory base plate for mounting the bottom of the camera to tripods/mounts/cranes,etc. I can't seem to find any info about it though. Here's the deal, I want to try my AF-100 on my Glidecam 3000, the single 1/4" attachment point freaks me out and I worry about the stock bottom plate cracking or something as the steadicam rig has it sideways or upside down or whatever and oops there goes the camera. I'd feel more confident if the camera had as solid of an attachment as possible.

I would of course tie the thing down to the rig with bungie cords or something as well, but the point is for the camera mount not to fail in the first place.

Am I just being paranoid, or is this a reasonable concern? Anyway, does anyone know what I'm talking about in regards to that mounting plate?

Yeah, I know there's two holes on the camera, there's only one mounting piece on that came with the Glidecam for the 1/4". It has a special spacer custom fit to the grooves on the mounting piece and then a little nub that extrudes out that sits inside of the 3/8" hole. Problem is the 3/8" nub is not threaded so it's only there to reduce twist if the 1/4" loosens but it doesn't actually "hold" the camera, only the 1/4" does.

I use the Juice Designs base plates on both my HMC150 and AF100. I swear by them. Well made and protects the bottom of the camera. Gives multiple 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 mount points. As a side note, Brian Berkey built a cheese plate for the AF100. Don't know if that is of any use to you but here is the link to the thread: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthrea...te-for-AF100&p=2506031&highlight=#post2506031 (You can also just make out the Juice Design plate on the bottom of my camera in those pics) Berkey did the plate as a one-off for me but he may be willing to make more if people want them.
