Frame grabs from a Sri Lankan feature film shot in Nepal. Temperature was below Zero most of the time. No additional lights other than a reflector. Due to heavy weather part of the crew menbers and cast returned home. Since no transport was available donkeys were used to carry minimum of equipment. DOP - Kavinda Ranaweera / Director - Upali Gamlath

Thanks.

The Napalee portion of the film is completed. The rest will be filmed in Sri Lanka.

AF 100 performed flawlessly through out the shoot. And the DOP has managed to handle the dynamic range well without clipping highlights.

Yes, the DP did a fantastic job balancing white snow and fleshtones! You wouldn't know what settings he used, would you?

Best of luck on the rest of the film, Maheel!

Looks amazing! I agree with grovechuck about the highlights. Just goes to show you, if you're careful this camera can look just as good as anything. I really like the subdued look and lower contrast. Were these taken right from the camera or are these graded?

Thanks GroveChuck,

camera settings.

ericksonpost ,

Yes, Exposing the camera corrextly solves many problems. We are used to get the maximum, out of the 9.5 stops of Dynamic range of the EX1. So it is much easier with one more stop of DR.

This is not a grade. But little adjustment to the extracted jpg s. Details is much better in the original.

owaltec,

Yes this will be transferred to 35 mm for distribution. We have transferred many EX1/3 shot features to 35 mm. Although not quite up to EX in the resolution dept I think AF 100 material will hold up well.

AdrianF,

Yes, it is always how to get the most from your tool.
