AF-100 EVF cap?

This may sound like an odd request but I never use the AF-100's EVF and in order to save an extra inch of space in a pelican case for flying to Japan, I'm curious if anyone knows of a third party replacement "block" after removing the stock EVF or at least a safe way to remove the entire EVF module?

I do the same thing, I have a very compact case I use sometimes for my AF100. I just take the rubber eye cup off and leave the rest attached. You're not saving any extra space past the eyecup anyway, and you don't have to worry about damaging the glass underneath. I hope this helps in some way. - Alan

I was thinking of getting an EVF cap for AF100 3D printed by a Makerbot or something. I'd prefer rubber, but ABS might do as a first-crack prototype.

(I NEVER use the EVF, and would like it permanently capped at ALL times). If anyone knows of anything off-the-shelf that's a perfect fit, that would be even better.

This was actually one of four little accessory products for the AF100 I've been thinking of making (or hoping someone else could make for me)...

I'm glad I'm not the only one that wishes I could remove the EVF to cut down the size and weight a tad :-) Steve R, if you make one (granted that the camera will operate no problems if the EVF was unplugged and removed - not sure if you can unplug the ribbon or if it needs to be cut?) I'll be your first customer.
