Hey okay, I’ve been traveling the past few months and it’s unlikely I’m up to speed . . . couple that with there are times that I simply overlook things but, I did something I rarely do this weekend . . . shot a wedding (because it was for a good friend) . . .

I get a Panasonic e-mail overnight pushing the AG-HPX255, consider it again but quickly decide, “nah, I’m getting beautiful stuff with my AF-100 . . . maybe I’ll just buy another one of those?”
I had just returned the new 12-35 to LensRentals, knowing I’m definitely going to pick up one of those but then . . .

In checking for the new pricing on B&H’s website (for the AF-100) I see the following note:
“this item has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available.”

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/731509-REG/Panasonic_AG_AF100_AG_AF100_Micro_Four_Thirds.html

Please tell me that’s a mistake or that I’m overlooking something pertinent to the topic or simply, “SAY IT AIN’T SO!”

Wow! That's a bit of a shocker. I'm not in the market for another one but you'd think we'd hear word of a replacement before seeing this. I wonder how B&H makes that determination? Is it that they cannot re-stock at the present time or is it a matter of their Panasonic sales rep telling them so.

Well, it's been almost 2 years. Maybe it is time for a revamping. Have you had the chance to see the GH3 specs? Pretty impressive.
i would like to see those specs in a AF100 style body with a M 4/3 mount.
I imagine a new camera is in the works. As I understand it, the AF100 sales are kinda flat. With the low cost of the camera I hope users have made their money by now. Hopefully they will keep the HDSDI out and XLR's. If this is true, it's gonna be a very interesting year.

looks like a time to move on..... very sad that we dont know anything about next cinema style cam from pany, -

And the strangest thing happened right after I went to B&H and saw that the AF-100 is discontinued. I grabbed my AF-100 and it stopped working. Nothing happened. My Lumix lenses don't fit on it anymore either. This is awful.

AF100?

What is this "AF100" that you're talking about?

And what's this scar on the back of my neck about?

Interesting that this "error" seems to have occurred while B&H was closed for several days. I wonder if some pranksters hacked in to the site.

Perfect response to "The sky is falling!"

I've gotten so that I don't believe anything on the internet - and that includes much of what I read here. But if Panasonic has in fact discontinued shipment to B&H without there even being a back street rumor of a successor, that will be a very bad thing. Hundreds, no thousands of people will be looking elsewhere, and they don't have far to look.

If it's a hoax or a "prank", Panasonic had better get on the phone to B&H, holiday or no holiday. The competition's just too fierce right now and the GH3 isn't going to fix it.

This is at least the fourth thread where someone has said "B & H is listing xxx product as discontinued" and, in fact, the product is not discontinued at all. Clearly B & H has a problem with their website content management and should be more diligent about making sure it is accurate.
