AF-100 and Lumix 14-140 focus issue

I don't own the Lumix 14-140 nor plan to, but I had a few minutes with the AF100 and that lens at a rental house the other day and encountered something weird. Every time we adjusted the zoom, the lens seemed to adjust focus for a second, even though the camera was on manual focus. If you zoomed very slowly, it wasn't there, but any moderate or fast zoom made the image go out of focus for a second. This did not happen with other lenses. The Panasonic rep was there and had no answer. Just thought I'd throw this out to see if anyone knows what the deal is.

I own the lens and mine doesn't do that. Sounds like something may be wrong with it. What it it does do however is quite remarkable. It can be programmed to lock on a specific person and keep them in focus. It comes in very handy on a Merlin, extended at the end of a monopod, or walking down a flight of stairs. It's a great piece of 'slow' glass.

I would love to see some examples of this, I've been begging for somebody with access to the camera to post some.

I started the other thread that RJS mentioned. We use 2 different lenses and they both preformed in the same manner. Jan said a firmware update for the lens is on the way to fix this.
