This is a DEMO-SHOOT : nothing really representable.

This is my first attemp to explore my new camera, it´s abilities and to give some people here in Germany an idea, how - for example- an imagefilm could look like (quality-wise).

No "real" color-correction - used the 3 way cc tool in finalcut, to adjust the color in the fastest way I can.

Shot spontaniously in one day at BMW/Mini Reisacher here in Ulm/Germany -

and edited in one night.

Although I definatly need some training and time with the AF101, I can admit, that I really, really like it very much!

Equipment:

- Camera: Panasonic AG-AF101 (Europe)
- Lens: Olympus Zuiko 14-35mm 1:2.0 (A Wow Lens - but really HEAVY! - maybe too heavy for handheld steadycam-shots)
- Steadycam from Glidecam
- Selfmade Glidtrack
- Dolly

THX for watching!

Wow this was some really really good looking footage. I am saving up to buy me one of these. Those shots seemed very Michael Bay-ish and I was honestly expecting the guy to just pull out two automatic weapons and start shooting up the place in a slow motion way with beautiful opera blaring. Anyways great footage.

Thanks for that kind Words -

the video was intended as a sort of experimental short - so I chose this style of editing.

Greetz to you Fabian!

wow, i am actually really blown away with your cinematography. Beautiful shots, editing was great too. Wish i had the simple skills with after effects to achieve some of those text effects.

Thanks PaPa -

To be honest...it's just much time To spend - if you got it, After Effects won't disappoint you...

Nice job in all respects.

I am sure you learnt a lot about your camera while doing it as well.

Congrats.

This is top-notch work -- bravo! I have a Af100 / 14-35mm Olympus / Seadicam Pilot / Kessler CineSlider on order and look forward to creating similar work.

You achieved a consistent look -- fluid movements, sharp, minimal video noise, grading, etc. Love know more production details (settings, workflow, etc) and any thoughts related to gear (specifically the lens).

Thanks Shooter -

but the capababilities are still not explored - neverless - I hope, to find the time, to give it an other try.

Wow - thank you for these nice compliments!

- I used a selfmade IGUS slider but I am also looking for the "one shot" Kessler pocket dolly!
- The steadycam pilot is - how should I say - state of art!
- the 14-35mm is amazing!!! I actually have about 5 lenses, which I bought specially for the AF101:

Voigtländer 25mm 0:95 (believe me - this lens looks funny on the AF100....but the picture and color-rendering looks so dawm 5D like - it is really a must have, although I didn´t use it in that shoot.

CANON FD 55mm 1:1.2 (really beautiful lens)

Vivitar FD 55mm Makro 1:2.8

Tokina FD 60mm - 120mm 1:2.8

Olympus 12-60mm (but that will be sold, altough it has some awesome advantages - like the minimum focus distance!!!)

Thank you again for your kind words.

Best regards from Germany.

Nice camera work. I personally found the DRS a little to obvious around the after the 2:50 mark. Nice job with the editing too.

great work. Really nice cinematography, and editing. I couldn't help notice how the af100 is handling the whites though. Very harsh. The things that where not over exposed looked great though.

Hi and thanks to you - as mentioned, it was a test-shoot and there for I didn´t adjust the camera on every individual situation. Believe me, if time allows, you can achieve a perfect looking image because the AF100 is very very versatile.

Thank you Reem -

the image-chronologie was in the forground, so I didn´t take much care of a properly exposed image - it was a zero budget shoot, so I didn´t take much care / I just wanted to know how the camera feels in action, and I´m quite happy with it!

I saw the shot today with the marketing manager from the company on the BIG screen and believe me....this is a "low-budget" cinema camera - 4 real ;-)

Hi. How do you find focus mechanics and travel on the 14-35 compared to, say, a Canon FD55?
I remember time ago I bought a Tamron 17-50 for my Canon 7D. I sold it when I realized I couldn't really live with such a short focus throw. I have a bunch of old Nikkors and focusing with those is something I can live with for documentary shooting as well.
Danke

Hello Alvise - although I don´t know what you mean by "focus throw" I can tell you -

generally...the focus travel is in my eye a "medium-case" not to fast and not to slow travel - so quiet usable (I didn´t have any problem with focus transitions).

When it comes to the portability of the Olympus 14-35mm....it´s really heavy! about 1 kg....

but the zoom range of 28-70mm is quiet acceptable and the minimum focus distance of about 20cm on M 4/3 is absolutely usable for example in macro-like distances.

That said...it is (as a lens) a really good - or maybe the best zoom-lens for the M 4/3 mount.
