Aerial Photography--with RC helicopter

I'm going to take a guess at the chopper-cam:
...a CCD module, pinhole cam, cost around 200-400$ , 1" square, out putting composite video on VHS chan 3 which is usually standard.
Probably a 100-200 mw AM transmitter although I imagine you can buy them ready made now. It's been a couple years but DigiKey used to sell those. I'm sure big strides have been made in the modules since then.
Digikey has an online catalog...

(Just guessing. Could be wrong but might be usefull.)

//Googling 'CCD Camera module turns up alot.
Here's one...

//oops, you'd have to modulate the composite video onto an RF carrier to transmit it.
Easiy done.

Hey, Guys

Sorry for the delay in reply. Didn't realize there's some feed back about our helicam, first time user. Most of the footage are made with a mini helicopter and was shot with Digital cameras with video capability. We now are shooting with 2 helicopter that flys with Mini HDV 1440x1080, 1920x1080 direct caputre for some jobs and have had done quite a some jobs with this setup. Will remove all the current videos soon and replace with HDV in a few weeks. We are currently working on another heli that will be able to carry HVX200 and 16mm film cam. We are base out of New York and do travel if you guys have projects that requires aerial clips. And it have live view and pan and tilt camera control.

The HVX200 heli is up and ready. It can also carry 16mm and modify 35mm film cam. It is very smooth and vibe free. Couple of projects are coming up that requires HVX200, finally will be shooting Full HD.

thi is really interseting, how do you feel about the camera going so high???
and what about permits and all that beurocracy?

I love it, for shots that go straight, the air since to rock it around too much

What have you guys been planning for these small problems?
More weight? What is the daily rate? :)!

I'm very interested.

I'd love to see the mini copter. How big is it? It's gotta be fairly good sized to reliably carry an HVX200 -I'd imagine.

The helicopter total weight is about 26lbs with HVX 200, It very stable on clam wind. Can operate up to around 20 to 25 mph. Heli is very solid and robust and have a track record of reliability. Heli is around 6 foot long, I have done a lot of modification to it and planning to producing as a product also, so I can't post photos, until ready for sales.

Joseph,
It's not ready yet. I need to get everything ready, then I will definitely post photos. Probably in a month, or two I can post some photos.
Blindsight.
Live view is pretty simple, just a TX and RX downlink, similar to ones of a Baby monitor, security monitors. You can do a search in Ebay and you can probably find something under $100. We have to pay more because we need special frequency that won't interfere with our Heli Radio.

You just have to love old San Fran. Here is one of ours. This ones been carrying the HVX200 for almost 3 years now and has been recently updated to carry the Red.
