AE and TV

Is it possible to work in AE, while outputting your project onto a TUBE TV while editing?

I use my TV for final cut in order for proper layout/placement, so I don't get anything getting cut off of the TV.

Is this do-able in AE?

Thanks,

Robbie

No, robbie. Its one of the top industry compositing and motion graphics tools and has more functionality then a girl from vegas. But you cant do a preview out to an external device.

noob.

:P sorry i couldnt help it, even tho I already told you how to do it.

There's a title/action safe button under your viewer window that will show you title safe (where you can put supers without cutting them off) and action safe (where you can put footage and still keep it in a safe area for broadcast). Final Cut has them too. That way you don't need a monitor, at least not for placement. If you still want to monitor from AE, you set it up in preferences and that's it. Not sure how you monitor in Final Cut, but it should be the same deal (either a card in your computer or via firewire through a camcorder or something).

Here's the location of the title/action safe button that Graham mentioned above.

Here's a quick and easy explanation of the safe action/title overlay.
