Advice regarding total usage

I am new to this forum and would like to ask for some feedback regarding the total hourly usage that is recorded in the memory of the DVX 100A. The reason I am asking this question is that I am going to purchase a used one (it is all I can afford) but with regard to usage, could some one give me an idea of what may be excessive and what would be considered low? The one DVX-110A I am considering now reports 97 hours.

Well, "low" and "excessive" also depend on the age of the camera. An original DVX100 from 2002 with 300 hours might be considered low, where a three-day-old 100B with 70 hours might be considered "excessive" by some... ;)

97 hours is not a lot. As long as the price is reasonable, that's not high usage at all. You should get at least 1,000 hours out of the heads, and probably more like 2,000. Even then, it's not "game over", you can get the heads replaced and start over at zero.

As moderator, can you tell me if there is a section on this forum for buying and selling or is that allowed. I think I would be more comfortable making a purchase here than on Ebay.
