Advice on Purchasing a DVX100B...

Hey guys,

I am looking at purchasing a DVX100B and found a couple of places that were offering it brand-new with full manufacturer's warranty for under $1700. (One was even offering it for $1560) While these sound like good deals, I wanted to check with any of you who might have dealt with them to make sure they're not grey-market or fly-by-night operations.

The first was at:
http://www.ccicameracity.com/agdvx100b.html

The second was at:
http://www.royalcamera.com/agdvx100b.html

If this question has already been posted, I apologize. I don't have time to peruse all the previous posts, so if someone could send me a link to the answer, that would be very helpful.

Thanks much,

Jeremy

Hey. I was in the same boat as you a few weeks back. I was really excited to find such a low price. But low and behold you will never get the camera at that price. They will string you along for months saying its backordered and being shipped until you pay an arm an a leg to them in grossely overpriced accessories. At this point it would have been much more timely and economical to go with a more expensive... but honest business. Also, there are links to the pictures of the actual store front of CCI and Royal Camera (which I believe are actually the same lowlifes running both). It's pretty gross... like they lack the dignity to even keep their own shop clean. As for buying from an authorized dealer... you might want to consider beach photo or newegg which are not authorized but much cheaper. In the event you get a camera that is not accepted by Panasonic (when you send your rebates in) then these companies will most likely be glad to take a return and send you another one until you get one that is accepted as a USA panasonic product. I think I read another post on here from someone who recieved a non-US product and did that very thing. Anyways - hope this helps - good day to ya chap.

Thanks guys...

Thanks guys...

Hey guys,

While this isn't the news I really wanted to hear, it does come back to the fact of getting what you pay for. It may take a while longer to save up the greater amount of money, but I would prefer doing that and get what I want, rather than getting the run around with a back alley dealer.

Thanks,

Jeremy
