Advice on new purchase...

Its time to change the camera, my DVX100B simply is ceasing to exist. It has been a great camera for the last 2.5 years. Now its mortally wounded. I have to start looking for a substitute.
My question is, what would you buy? Would you buy the DVX100B again? Is there a new model coming out soon? Should i move on to HD?
Budget is aprox 3000/3500$
Any advice is warmly welcomed!!

No indication of if/when there would be a newer version of the DVX.

Move to HD if you want to or need to...

In the 3500'ish budget, for an HD camera, you should look at the Canon A1. Otherwise, get another dvx if you like it...

Out of curiosity... how is it 'mortally wounded'. There are authorized repair centers (Specialized Communications, for example) who might be able to fix it up like new for you for less than the cost of buying a new one.

EDIT: Just saw you are from Spain, so that might rule out Spec-Comm :) But, I am sure you can find authorized repair centers in your area as well.

My firewire has been broke since my camera was about 6 months old. I have a 4 year warranty, but I only have maybe less then a year or so left. Problem is doing without it for however long it takes to get the $1200 interface board replaced.

I was going to send it in a couple years back, but just got to busy with it and had to wait. Still waiting...

you said it! getting repair parts in spain takes forever and the price is just nuts.
The cam's front lens support was brutally cracked in half Manual focus is gone forever, vcr playback does not work properly. mic input 2 does'nt record sound.
AWB is also awol.... sad sad sad... :( some major internal bleeding i think

Already headed down to Arpi, shop where i bought it. Can be repaired but for a little bit more could buy a new one, a little bit more is about 1500€
