Advice on live capture using DVX100

Hi

I need to capture footage live as its being filmed on a DVX100. This is the first time I have both captured live and worked with footage from the DVX100! So I really want to be sure about the workflow.

Will be capturing on macbook pro laptob, FCP 7.0 via firewire. Am unsure if it will be shot 24p or 24pA, but would like to know what the set up is for both possibilities.

As far as I understand:

Sequence preset: DV NTSC-23.98
Capture preset: DV NTSC 48 KHz for 24p or DV NTSC (2:3:3:2) anamorphic 48 KHz for 24pA
Device control: Non-controllable device

Then I simply hit capture now when rolling and esc when cut.

Is this correct and are there any known complications that you can pre-warn me about?

Thanks

Ceri

You got it. Just make sure your editing system is cool with 24p as some only work with 30p. (I'm not a mac guy myself but have used FCP in my college days) I would recommend sticking a tape in anyway just to make sure nothing goes wrong. If you bump the firewire or the comp goes nuts or your hard drive slows for half a second and drops frames its nice to have a back up tape.
