Advice on Carry On Luggage for DVX-200, Two Full Size Nikon DSLRs, two lenses...

Does anyone has advice on a carry on luggage that would fit a DVX-200, Two Full Size Nikon DSLRs, two lenses, and a few other peripherals. Thanks!

A DVX will just barely fit in a think-tank airport accelerator with enough room for maybe one body and a lens or two. It's really tight and the mic holder has to be removed (lay it on it's side). Domestic travel? weight shouldn't be an issue. International there is a typical 15lbs limit. The DVX in the think-tank bag with battery and charger pretty much maxes that. I think you are probably going to have to look at two bags...

I carry this on constantly. DVX200, GH5, 4 lenses, mics, chargers, batteries, macbook, hard drives. Wearing it on your back no one ever questions it, it just passes off as a "personal item". I also carry on a roller bag and save myself a lot of money. Smaller planes can be tough and I've had to physically remove the DVX and put it under the seat in front of me, but totally fine overhead on 95% of flights.

I have used soft cases for years and still carry some equipment, however if you want to protect your gear, get yourself a good hard case. I had a mis-hap one day when it was raining and a helper in haste threw a heavy tri-pod on top of a soft case and damaged my camera.

For my DVX200 I use 1510 Pelican case, they are bullet-proof and very reasonable priced. The one that fits the DVX200 like a glove is the Pelican 1510, it sells for only $164.00. The case is very sturdy, has good locks & hinges and the wheels work great. There’s plenty of room for your remote, batteries, Mic’s, etc. Here’s a few images and a link.

Enjoy - Mike

perhaps the Pelican "Air" range is a better case as it's about 40% lighter than the original series.

I'm looking at cases with similar requirements to the OP. Down here in Australia the carry-on allowance is 7kgs and they will very often weigh your bag and if its over size or weight, then you have to check it in.
(7kg of carry-on baggage on board.
Carry-on baggage may consist of: Two pieces (e.g. small bag or briefcase) that do not exceed dimensions of 48cm x 34cm x 23cm (total linear dimensions 105cm)

Then your stuck with checking in a soft case :( which is why I'd prefer to check in a Pelican.

While this doesn't fit the carry-on requirement from the OP I thought this may be of use to others. Recently, the TSA changed the rules and now requires that any electronic item larger than a cell phone be removed from its case. So rather than go thru the hassle of taking all of our gear out we purchased a couple of Pelican 1560s for our DVX200, audio and DLSR gear and check it all. Here's a look at the one with the DVX200:

I have something similar, it's a backpack without all the heavy padding that those photo backpacks have. I can wrap my 800mm Nikkor in microfiber material and haul it along with a camera bag.

I am thinking two bags also. LOL or buy two tickets and put your gear on the empty seat
