advice on buying camcorder

hey, i'm still putting off buying a dvx 100b pal for film-making, i have 2500euro to spend, Its hard to buy a used one here in Ireland, you rarely see a used one on ebayuk from a reputable looking seller. So my choice is a new dvx from an authorized seller for about 2500euro or a 2nd hand pd150/170 for about 1000ish or cheaper. The dvx blows the pd 150 outta the water and from what i hear has far more room for experimentation, has far more longevity and prob is a more inspiring piece of kit. On the other hand if i bought a used pd150 i'd save about 1500...and thats a lot of retail therapy over the coming year, theres lots and lots of stuff i could spent that extra 1500 on. What do ya think? know your all biased here so but i want to make a decision soon..cheers
