Advice Needed. UV filter won't come off?!

So I have a UV filter on my DVX and it has been great I never over tightened it but I recently have been putting a letus adapter on it over the UV filter.

I just tried to take off my uv filter to clean my dvx lens it doesn't come off it seems very tight :(.

Am I screwed? What would you do should I use a lot of force? I don't want to ruin the threads obviously or are they already screwed now?

I guess tightening the letus on the uv really screwed up my situation.

That sucks man. I've put a Letus into the UV filter before (never my own camera mind you) but I've never seen that happen.
 
had same problem on my DVX. Get one of those cheap, slightly sticky vinyl 'non-slip' mats (they're designed to place under knick-knacks, dishes, etc so they don't slide around on table or whatever; readily available in Australia so you should be able to buy at WalMart or other American general store). Place it on a solid, flat surface. Remove matte box from camera, then press filter end of camera into non-slip mat. Gently but firmly rotate camera - the filter should loosen instantly. Maybe smearing thin layer of silicon 'grease' on filter threads will help prevent this?
