Advice for a trip to NY

Oh! And you might be able to still catch Evil Dead- The Musical offoff Broadway.

HI,

"New York production closing

It was announced on January 31, 2007 that Evil Dead: The Musical's New York production at New World Stages would close on February 17, 2007".
It seems to be in Toronto now :)

Spamalot is closed.

Practically most of the great shows on Broadway closed in Jan. Thank goodness I've seen most of them. But a few (Spring Awakening) transfered to West End.

august osage county is still running. And that was great. I've heard good things about Equus. Of course you have Wicked. And my personal recommendation is Avenue Q. Fantastic show and so funny. Although, Speed the Plow might still be up. And that is great too.

Safety wise, I wouldn't be too concerned. It's a city. I rode the express 4 train (runs on lexington) from 86th to Wall Street every day, sometimes 4 times a day and only had one problem on the train. Fight broke out and people were yelling they had guns. Nothing happened.

If you don't mind the occasional bible lesson, candy seller, homeless person searching for money, or mediocre performer. Subway isn't bad. Of course you still get morons who don't care about anyone else, but for the most part - people just listen to their IPods.

Latest I've used the subway was around midnight. And I just waited closer to the entrance gate. Never an issue.

Walk over the Brooklyn bridge... start in manhattan then walk to Bklyn... You can do the promenade after walking over the bridge, they are pretty close to eachother.... then eat at Grimaldi's pizza. Amazing Brick oven pizza that always has a huge line... but well worth it...

HeyZeus Christmas! I have GOT to remember this place. Sounds like my kinda joint!

CiPO- Since you asked....the TKTS place is essentially a booth or vendor stop smack dab in the middle of Times Square. You can't miss it. They offer last minute deals on Broadway Shows.

Thank you for all the info, will have to check them out. Although I am not completely sure on what you mean by "make out with the sunset skyline at your finger tips" :) I know the "making out" .... you mean the sunset skyline is so romantic that it will "boost" the "making out" ? :)

If you will ever travel to Rome I will be more then happy to help you :)

thx

thx man !!! Now I got it :) Can't wait to be in NY again :)

I am hitting now on Craigslist and airbnb.com to find an apartment. I saw pretty nice deals over there. One main issue, most of those places ask for a huge advances down payment to only book the apartment. They ask 30%-50% of the rental fee pplus 3-600$ for the refundable security deposit. This means basically I need to send more then the total rental cost and all in advance ! Without basically knowing to whom I am sending it !!
It doesn't feel very safe for me. What do you think ? :)

Thx for all the help guys.
