Hi Guys,

Fairly new to the GH1 and DLSR's on the whole, so please bare with me, but I am trying to do as much reading searching and whatnot as I can.

I have a GH1 and I have been on the hunt for an allround lens to start off with and I think I am going to go for the Oly Zuiko ED 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6, but I would need to get an adapter... But again, I am confuzzled a bit about it as I have seen so many different adapters around... I take it there is only one general adapter that I can use or do I have choices?

And does anyone use the above setup and could offer some opinions?

You would just need a simple Olympus OM to m4/3 mount... just search that in eBay and you'll find what you need... most a pretty standard, look for ones with good reviews.

Shauno -- understandable that you are confused. The upside of your new micro 4/3 camera is that you can use an almost infinite variety of lenses. The downside of your new micro 4/3 camera is that you can use an almost infinite variety of lenses.

There is an Olympus Zuiko ED 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6 for the old 4/3 format ($240 at Amazon) . But you would need a 4/3 to micro 4/3 adapter like the $170 Panasonic DMW-MA1 or the $138 Olympus MMF-2 to adapt this lens to your GH1.

A better option might be to buy the Olympus m.Zuiko ED 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6 for micro 4/3 ($295.73 at Amazon or $250 from Unique Photo) -- no adapter required!

Hope this is helpful,

Bill
